Jack Herer for a working town.

Street Lawyer Dispensary — Connecticut Ave NW, Cleveland Park

Washington, D.C. is a working town, and few cultivars hold more history on a daytime Sativa shelf than Jack Herer — named after the legendary cannabis author and activist.

Jack Herer is a classic spice-and-pine Sativa cultivar prized by daytime shoppers who want classic lineage over candy-named trends.

Lonny ties the arrival of Jack Herer on the shelf directly to Street Lawyer Dispensary receiving its final DC ABCA medical cannabis retail license.

Stocked right now on our flower shelf from AltSol, alongside whole-flower jars and Sativa formats in Cleveland Park.

Transcript: I have a story to tell, a story about Jack Herer, and how we got Jack Herer into Street Lawyer. So here's the deal: once ABCA gave us the final retail license — Street Lawyer Dispensary, to be a medical retailer — I walked outside, and it was sunny and beautiful like it is today. But I heard a rumbling, a deep rumbling sound, and I couldn't figure it out because it sounded just like thunder, but it couldn't have been thundering because there was no rain, there was no gray clouds — it was beautiful and sunny. And then out of nowhere appeared the son of Jack Herer, one of the most famous cultivators everywhere. He exited his vehicle, walked right up to me, and he handed me a basket, and in the basket was nothing but smoke. And I took the basket — I said, 'Sir, what is this?' He said, 'This is the original cut of Jack Herer from my father.' And I looked down at the basket, and I saw this smoke coming out, and I looked up — he was gone. And then when the smoke cleared, I saw the original cut of the Jack Herer strain. And guess what? We got it right here. You know for who? For you. Come get it!

Folklore, licensing, and a classic Sativa.

Told as deadpan D.C. folklore — clear skies, a roll of thunder on Connecticut Ave, and a smoke-filled basket — Lonny marks a real milestone for the shop: receiving final retail licensure from the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and stocking benchmark genetics under the regulated program.

Why Jack Herer endures in the District.

First bred in the mid-1990s from Haze, Northern Lights, and Shiva Skunk genetics, Jack Herer earned its reputation on bright pine-and-pepper aromatics rather than novelty packaging.
